Do you need an excellent base camp for more extended explorations of the coastal and park lands on the Kenai Peninsula? Our hostel is perfect!
The Kenai International Hostel, LLC is located in the heart of Alaska's (Ak) Central Kenai Peninsula called "The Kenai" by local Alaskans. Our beautiful Kenai Peninsula is accessible by road. Departing from Anchorage by car or bus take a picturesque drive around Turnagain Arm watching for Beluga whale. Drive over the mountains and through the dale south on the Seward Hwy a designated National Scenic Byway. Split off of the Seward Hwy onto the Sterling Hwy heading towards Soldotna. Enjoy the wild Kenai River as you drive along side watch for Bald eagles and Brown bear. Pass through Cooper Landing you are now about 52 miles away from the Hostel. The Kenai International Hostel is situated on five acres of the family 150 acre homestead site on ARC Loop South which is over the Kenai River bridge and 4.6 miles south of Soldotna at mile post 100.6 Sterling Highway, Ak, USA. Watch out for moose.
Alaska's Kenai Peninsula is a travelers, hikers, outdoors persons paradise whether you are looking for easy scenic trails or high mountain adventure. River fishing, sightseeing and wild land trail hiking opportunities lay just outside your front door. The Kenai Intrn'l Hostel allows easy access to nearby Kenai National Wildlife Refuge visitor center and other state parks that are rich in naturalist activities. The world famous Kenai River meanders through Soldotna a quick 4.6 miles from the hostel. The Kenai River is home to the world record King salmon, so if you like to fish Soldotna is where you will want to be.
